slip dress.

27 Jul

yesterday i popped into one of my most coveted stores, Anthropologie, for a little birthday browsing.

while the prices are typically out of my range for basics, i could be convinced to buy something for a special occasion. with lots of weddings to attend in my future (september, december, and may!), i thought this little number could be a versatile addition to my wardrobe.

the colors really pop against the blue motif. in december, i’d pair it with black tights and in may (when it is still a little cool at night) i could add on a bright cardigan.

the price ($138) isn’t too bad if i can put it to good use. and even outside weddings, i could see myself throwing on this number for a date night.

what do you think?

could i make it an all seasons dress with the right accessories?

an update: i finally purchased the dress and i am SO SO SO excited to wear it to a wedding in late september. thanks to everyone for the convincing feedback :)

Leen, this dress is amazing! Still loving the blog by the way, lol.

I think you could easily get $138 dollars of enjoyment out of this, especially for summer festivities. For that price, the quality is probably versatile enough for several uses. The tricky part is not having too much “hot mess” fun so as to avoid any unwanted beverage splats onto the pretty fabric. Might need to keep furious dance moves to a minimum, at least with drink in hand. :)

you’ve SOLD me. i obviously want this. and by want, i mean need. i shall refrain from too much hair shaking and drink dancing. thanks for your advice!

I love this too! I can totally see it in the fall with some riding boots & a jacket & scarf. Orange is my favorite color & I love florals, so you kind of hit it out of the park for me with this one.

GREAT idea with the riding boots! I’ve never paired a dress with boots before, but i could totally see it working. you should see these colors in person–the print really pops. i’m totally smitten with it.
